You've reached the online home of the McDonald's Canada Moms' Quality Correspondents: moms from all across Canada that will be getting answers to the questions they have as real moms, about McDonald's food. The Moms will have unprecedented access to McDonald’s Canada to see how we serve millions of customers quality food every day.

McDonald's Commitment to Families

Our most recent McDonald’s Moms’ Quality Correspondents trip focused on McDonald’s commitment to families and the shared family moments provided through McDonald’s partnerships.

On this trip the Moms visited The Marketing Store in Chicago to see first-hand how an idea for a McDonald’s Happy Meal Toy comes to life. They learned about the history of the Happy Meal Toy and McDonald’s commitment to toy safety. At The Marketing Store, the Moms had the opportunity to see how the movie Shrek inspired McDonald’s latest Happy Meal Toys. After this visit Naomi was amazed to learn that "it was only in 1994 when the very first Happy Meal was introduced to Canada."

Following their trip to The Marketing Store, the Moms had the opportunity to visit the DreamWorks Animation Studio in Glendale, CA to see first-hand how a successful partnership translates into a Happy Meal Toy in-restaurant that families will love. And finally, after seeing how the toys were inspired by the film, the Moms got a sneak preview of the forth and final installment of the Shrek franchise, Shrek: Forever After.

Moms' Latest Thoughts

"Once again I was highly impressed with the flawless partnership between McDonald’s and DreamWorks. They work together to bring smiles to children’s faces. We were able to go to the motion animation room where they use tools and gadgets to interact directly with the animated characters on screen. It is an amazing virtual task that helps them relate to the character and control them and the actors in real time. We also had the chance to explore animation 101. Seeing the whole process from start to finish, from the concept to the movie itself was unbelievable! The whole process takes about 3-5 years to complete! They did share some up and coming secrets with us but we can’t tell. One thing I can tell you is you’re going to love it and your kids are going to love it too!"
